Welcome back to my blog!
At the beginning of this blog I would have never expected to be writing this in such unusual circumstances.
As predicted, we have gone into lockdown and all colleges, schools, and pubs have been shut for at least two weeks. Although I predicted it in my last post it is still feels like a dream, or rather nightmare.
All my classes have now moved online which is strange. Some classes like Radio and Sub-editing and Design are live lectures but Sociology and English are recorded lectures.
I personally prefer the live lectures as they motivate me to get up and listen instead of just lying in bed saying I will listen to the lecture later. It also allows for interaction too which is important during this time.
I am finding it hard to convince myself to sit down at work. I have obviously moved back home to my parent’s house and this place used to be a place of rest and no work but now I have to change my mindset. I am getting through it but it will take time to get into a rhythm.
However, the biggest adjustment for me is the lack of social interaction between my friends which I used to have. We are very lucky that we live in an age where we can communicate over social media but I do miss seeing my friends every day.
What have your school, college or work done to combat Corona? What is the biggest challenge you are facing with this adjustment?
Luckily, for my course we never had any end of term exams just continuous assessment however, my brother is in final year in NUIG and his exams could be delayed. The uncertainty is obviously stressful for everyone.
If you have any suggestions of passing the time in isolation you can leave them below! Until next time, stay safe and wash your hands! It is vital to take the Governments advice which I will link again below!
